Dinner with Joseph Johnson

Dinner with Joseph Johnson

You are cordially invited to a virtual dinner with Daisy Hay and (the spirit of) Joseph Johnson, radical publisher of Ms Wollstonecraft, Mr Fuseli, Mr Godwin, Mr Paine and one Mr Wm Blake. The dinner will take place on Wednesday 7th September, on Zoom, commencing at 8 PM (UK time). All are welcome, but if you wish to eat please provide your own veal and boiled vegetables.

Ms Hay will expound learnedly on Joseph Johnson and the circle of radicals, writers, scientists, poets and artists who dined weekly with him at his home in St Paul’s Churchyard in the late 18th century.

Main course

A conversation will follow between Ms Hay and Mr Riordan of the Blake Society, chewing over particularly delicious morsels from Ms Hay’s nourishing book, Dinner with Joseph Johnson.

Sweet delicacies will be served in the form of apposite questions to Ms Hay invited from the audience.

Our chair Mx Heath will see us on our way with some choice vegan words.

All are welcome, RSVP below

(Please notify us of any conversational allergies)
